pushing on the birth stool

This will sound cheesy to some but this was my Cinderella birth - you know, a dream is a wish your heart makes?

This was my second pregnancy, very blessed and easy as my first was. When my husband and I found out we were pregnant I brought up the idea of homebirth, my husband was totally against it. Very fearful of what could happen and not being in the hospital. He made his wishes know and we planned this whole pregnancy as the first, in the hospital.

Fast forward 38 weeks, this whole coronavirus stuff is in full swing, hospital is not allowing doulas in the room, all these restrictions. Hysteria. Not a peaceful way for my baby to be born - in the hospital. So I brought up the idea of home birth again, husband was still against but after much prayer and petition, that if this was supposed to happen for me God would make it, I heard back from my Doula that the Jenns would be willing to talk to me, now 39 weeks. My husband said he'd consider it. Called them up, fast tracked the process, and my baby came last friday. 6.5 hours, dept so comfortable at home! Jen helped me with switching positions, talking me through pushing, and being a gentle guide to me and my little boy. Theresa and Jenn helped me so much afterwards. It was like having your best friends come over and deliver your baby. Such an amazing community of woman to experience.

I wish in my heart I had been able to do the whole process with their team. They are all, nothing short of amazing. And this delivery compared to my first was a totally different experience. I am so thankful that they were kind enough to consider me and help me have the birth I wanted. It was an amazing experience. Thank you Jen, Jenn, and Theresa!
